Litter Whittlesford - a good job done
As well as annual litter picks at Whittlesford, the parish council has decided to hire a part-time litter picking person. The annual litter picks, which the District Council supports by providing equipment (bags, litter sticks, safety tabards) and taking away the collected detritus, can only do so much, whereas the problem needs keeping on top of year round.
Here is the first result from tackling Hill Farm Road, which as it is a popular short cut for people heading to the Newton Road and the A10, gets a lot of vehicles passing through whose drivers probably don't think twice about lobbing a paper cup or a wrapper out of the window.
Other roads in and around the village will be tackled on a rota. So very well done - however I think it is also something the community should help with too otherwise it is all too easy to forget how we need to look after our villages.
