Greenacres Duxford update
I gace Duxford Parish Council a heads up at the parish meeting last Thursday on the Local Plan and a possible bid to have land around Duxford included as a site for development. These bids come under the heading "omissions sites" and there are three days scheduled in June for the Inspector to hear arguments arguing that they should be added in to the Local Plan before it is adopted later this year.
I also gave an update on the district council planning committee hearing of 23rd March where the parish council and I spoke against the detailed plans put forward by the developers. It helped that I had had several conversations with neighbours to the site in Greenacres itself the weekend before. The committee agreed with our objections and rejected the plans (known as "reserved matters") unanimously. This does not mean the development is stopped, but it does mean that the developers have to come up with better plans for the site and bring them back for approval.
I suggested to the parish council they seek a meeting with the developers to see what can be improved, while we have the opportunity.
