You found my new blog - welcome!

I'm County Councillor for 12 villages in the south of Cambridgeshire - Duxford, Fowlmere, Foxton, Great  & Little Chishill, Heydon, Hinxton, Ickleton, Pampisford, Shepreth, Whittlesford and Thriplow.

I also represent the residents of Whittlesford, Heathfield and Thriplow on South Cambridgeshire District Council. Since 2016 I have been leader of South Cambs District Council.

Whittlesford's Neighbourhood Plan is on track ...

A good meeting this morning to plan the next few months of the Neighborhood Plan for Whittlesford. The draft vision for the village will be the subject of consultation via the village magazine, the annual parish meeting and a survey on-line at the Neighbourhood Plan website, while we will crunch the objectives in April to ensure they are things that we can and will do. The housing survey that informs the housing element of the plan will be done in May, and then there is a bit of drafting and a final consultation before sending it off for assessment by the district council.

After that, assuming the council OK it and the independent assessor gives it the thumbs up, there will be a referendum in the village and the plan will be in place as a statutory document in early next year. This means that any proposals for development would have to take into account the views contained in our Neighbourhood Plan. No ifs no buts.

We plan a thankyou event in the summer for all the people who have contributed to getting the plan this far...
