Six parish councils share what they know at Hinxton
Representatives from Hinxton, Whittlesford, Duxford, Ickleton Pampisford and Gt Chesterford met at the Red Lion together with me from South Cambs and councillors from south of the border in Uttlesford. The aim of the meeting was for the parish councils to share notes on the proposals for housing development at Gt Chesterford, which might be coming forward as part of the Uttlersford Local Plan, the proposals by Wellcome to enlarge the Genome Institute to build a global scientific centre for genome mapping, and the latest bid by Smithson-Hill for a agri-science park to the east of the A1301.
I answered questions on the progress of South Cambs Local Plan, and the modelling work needed to understand the impact of the settlement at Gt Chesterford on Cambridgeshire's roads and infrastructure. It was a useful meeting, and parish councils with a mutual interest could and should do more of this information sharing.
The Adnams was nice too..
