South Cambs Local Plan - what's happening?
I went on BBC Radio Cambridgeshire this afternoon to explain where we are up to on getting the Local Plan for South Cambs district adopted - to bring certainty on where houses will be built through until 2030.
So to start with, what is the Local Plan?
Thordis the BBC presenter asked why it had taken this long? Here is what I said:
We talked about the infrastructure needs across the district that will support the houses being built - people need transport as well as homes. Infrastructure such as the new Cambridge north station, possibly Cambridge south station at Addenbrookes, and good transport links from Cambourne to Cambridge.
