And that's a wrap - busy PC meetings concluded for January
Little Abington this evening had a good discussion about the transport developments that could impact the village, esepcially the proposals to do with the A1307 that the City Deal will be putting forward next month.
In Hinxton last week there was a packed public meeting putting questions to the CEO of SmithsonHill who want to build a agri-tech hub alongside the A505. At Whittlesford the parish council ran a drop-in session attended by over 80 people wanting to know more about the village's Neighbourhood Plan. This has inspired Thriplow too, who are also pressing for safer junctions on the A505.
The previous week Duxford discussed their ambition to find a better way to get access from the village other than crossing the busy A505 on foot or on a bike, while Ickleton and Pampisford want to have on-site discussions with County Highways about traffic schemes in their respective villages. Babraham are thinking at their PC meeting how to tackle two possible developments that would bring the village and Sawston very close together.
No-one can say that Parish Councils nowadays meet to decide what colour to paint the cricket pavilion. I'm deeply impressed by the commitment these people make, unpaid, to doing the best by the communities they live in. Long may it continue!
